“Nobody got anywhere in the world by simply being content.”
Louis L’Amour

A quote from one of my favorite authors and how true it is.  (Yes I am a huge fan of western novels and movies) It is discontent that spurs us on and causes us to reach deep within ourselves and upwards to God for the next step, new level in our lives.  We can’t allow ourselves to grow stagnant and void of life.  God is calling us upward always desiring us to move in a forward motion.  He will allow frustration, discontent to come into our lives when there is CHANGE needed in our lives.  And guess what?  That change usually begins within us.  We tend to want to look at our life situations or point a finger at someone else – hey that is so much easier than to believe that perhaps just maybe I’m the problem!  Yet God is saying, “Look to me and see what I reveal, I am the truth and I have the answers you need!”  So next time you find yourself squirming and unsettled with your life or situation – look to Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith then pull yourself up by your bootstraps and let’s get moving – there’s a lot He has for you to accomplish!

Love

“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.”
~ C.S. Lewis  (The Four Loves)
